The Story
Art that puts Charters Towers on the map
With the intention of educating travellers about the incredible artwork found in every corner of the country, the 2023 awards shone a spotlight on Charters Towers and Goldtower Central. With the only criteria being that every nominated piece must be an original artwork created for its own location, Goldtower's The World and Wall of History were entered.
The Wall of History was shortlisted as a finalist for Best Mega Mural, while The World received Silver for Best Landmark / Sculpture and Gold for Best Monument / Memorial.
