Wall of History 1872 - 1922 

Experience The Wall of History, a seven-meter-tall, 80-meter-long mosaic adorned with over five million tiles, celebrating Charters Towers’ defining moments. Inspired by Jupiter Mosman’s accidental gold discovery, this mosaic tells the story of the northern gold rush, propelling Charters Towers to prominence. Created by artist Trisha Lambi, each of the eight panels captures the era with historical photos and insights. Plaques accompany the panels, offering a glimpse into history amidst landscaped surroundings.

The World 

Delve into the illustrious past of ‘The Town They Called The World’ at Goldtower’s monumental tribute, The World. Along New Queen Road, near the Columbia Poppet Head, stands this awe-inspiring seven-meter sculpture on a granite base intricately carved with Charters Towers’ tales. Unveiled as a commemorative gift for 150 years since the goldfields’ declaration, it’s a generous contribution from Goldtower Central’s owner, Paul McIver. The World invites you on a captivating journey through time.

Three Golden Nuggets

In homage to Charters Towers’ rich mining heritage, Three Golden Nuggets stand tall, symbolic of the town’s enduring legacy forged during the late 1800s Gold Rush. These gleaming nuggets serve as a tribute to both the historic Gold Rush era and the ongoing mining endeavors that sustain Charters Towers to this day.

Crafted by Rod Coleman of Townsville, with a unique roof design, it also features a lightning strike counter, embodying resilience and innovation.
